Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity.

  1. Cleaning the Air Filter: Turn off and unplug the unit. Remove the filter every 2-4 weeks. Rinse with lukewarm water and let air dry completely before reinstalling. Press the FILTER RESET button if equipped.
  2. Cleaning the Water Tank: Empty the tank regularly. To clean, wash with a mild detergent and water. Rinse thoroughly. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
  3. Cleaning the Exterior: Wipe the cabinet with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasives.
  4. End-of-Season Storage: If storing for an extended period, empty and clean the tank. Let the unit run in FAN ONLY mode for a few hours to dry the interior coils. Coil the power cord. Store in a cool, dry place.

CAUTION! Always unplug the unit before performing any maintenance. Never immerse the unit in water.

Continuous Drainage

For unattended operation, connect a garden hose (not included) for continuous water drainage.

  1. Ensure the unit is unplugged and the water tank is empty.
  2. Remove the tank and locate the drain outlet on the back or side of the unit.
  3. Remove the drain outlet cap.
  4. Connect a standard 5/8" inner diameter garden hose (ensure it is not kinked).
  5. Route the hose to a floor drain, sink, or sump pump where water can flow freely downhill.
  6. Replace the water tank. The unit will now drain continuously. The full-tank alert will not activate.

Note: For proper drainage, the hose must run downward without loops or sags that could trap water.
